A digital illustration series by Artist Harshpreet Kaur
Process: "I create digital works that are both vector and raster. To begin and visualize a concept, I first draw it on paper with a pencil and use watercolor or pastels to identify colors that represent my message the best. Hand-drawn mock-ups help me get very clear visuals and review color schemes beforehand. Then I scan the piece to generate a high quality file to work with. I use this file to digitize the artwork. To complete the artwork, I use my digital tablet to create vectors using Adobe Illustrator or Affinity Designer and for my raster illustrations I use Adobe photoshop. In this step, I use the scanned image as a background and redraw the design, the redrawing helps to refine the edges and give a nice clean look to the art and ensures that the color fill will be good in the end. The last thing I do is export the file to a print pdf. The pdf is then sent for a test print on archival photo paper. After that and a quality check, I consider the artwork finished. "
